Our Story

Crossroads Christian Fellowship (formerly Calvary Chapel Kaua’i), began in 1990 with the leadership of Eric Van Deusen, who felt led to minister on Kaua’i under the umbrella of Calvary Chapel Honolulu.

Richard Belding followed in Eric’s steps, pastoring Calvary Chapel Kaua’i (CCK) until 1996 when Bob Hallman accepted Pastor Bill Stonebraker’s invitation to pastor CCK.

Over the following sixteen years, Pastor Bob and the leadership team focused primarily on building a strong fellowship through evangelism and discipleship.  God blessed CCK beyond anyone’s expectations, entrusting the church with 66 acres on Kapaa Bypass for ministry development, bringing three Christian radio stations to the island (KHJC 88.9 FM,  KAWZ 90.1 FM, KESU 87.7 FM), partnering in launching Calvary Chapel North Shore (2001), partnering in launching and hosting U-Turn for Christ (2006), re-launching Calvary Chapel South Shore (2006), establishing Kaua’i Bible College (2007), and most recently, planting Calvary Chapel Lihue (2011).

In 1998, the church began offering limited classes to the local community and in 2007, Kauai Bible College (KBC) expanded into a full campus on the church property with a variety of local pastors and former staff of other Bible colleges teaching their courses.  KBC’s mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, who know how to study the Bible and apply it to their lives as Christian workers, disciple-makers, and servant leaders.

In 2013, Calvary Chapel Kaua’i was renamed as CROSSROADS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP,  and continued its commitment to:  1) Love God, 2) Love Others and 3) Make Disciples.

April 2019, Pastor Bob Hallman retired as Senior Pastor of Crossroads and Nathan Pearl became Interim Pastor.

We have been coming to this church each time we visit Kauai. We consider it our home Kauai church. We live in Florida and are bringing our Michigan sons, wife, and grandchildren! We will be there for Sunday but they will only be there for Christmas. We’re hoping you are having a Christmas Eve service!
